Richard R. Waterfield is Chairman of the Board & CEO of Waterfield Enterprises, LLC, an American investment holding company with interests in technology, energy, financial services, defense, management consulting, real estate, hospitality, and agriculture. Waterfield has acquired operations dating back to 1887.

Mr. Waterfield also serves as Chairman & CEO of Waterfield Asset Management (Est. 1989), Founder & Managing Principal of Waterfield Private Equity Fund(s) I, II, and III, (Est. 1999, 2000, and 2004 respectively), and a Founding Partner of Waterfield Merchant Banking (Est. 1998). He serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of the following Waterfield subsidiary companies: Waterfield Financial (Est. 1928), Waterfield Technologies (Est. 1989), Blueworx Cloud Solutions (formerly IBM Websphere), VoxGen Artificial Intelligence Solutions, Vox Network Solutions, Dice Communications, Digital DataVoice (DDV), and Speech-Soft Solutions, and Chrysalis Software, Inc. He is Chairman Emeritus & Former CEO of Waterfield Group (Est.1928), as well as a Former Chairman of YPO Orange County, YPO | Northern Indiana, Culver Military Academy Summer Schools & Camps, and Waterfield Energy (Est. 2009). Mr. Waterfield coaches a select group of high potential growth organizations, including: CapView Partners, a $1.1 billion in transaction history SFR & 1031 exchange investment organization, The BAM Companies, a $1.3 billion in transaction history institutional quality apartment community investment organization, and The Desai Companies, a private family value investment company with a focus on hotel management, remote workforce, & construction. During his tenure at Waterfield, Mr. Waterfield has managed over 90 acquisitions and divestitures, along the way founding Waterfield Asset Management, Waterfield Enterprises, Waterfield Merchant Banking, The Waterfield Funds, two of America’s first Internet banks (National InterBank & UFB Direct), and Waterfield Financial, which at one time owned and operated America’s largest independent affinity deposit origination network, a 90 million member network serving the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Firefighters, Teamsters, the NRA, and the US Armed Forces, among others.

Prior to joining Waterfield Group, Mr. Waterfield was at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, where he served in the Equities Division under Robert K. Steele, who eventually became Deputy Mayor of New York City, CEO of Perella Weinberg, and Chairman of Duke Univeristy, J. Christopher Flowers, who eventually became CEO of JC Flowers & Co, a multi-billion dollar financial services investment fund complex, and Anthony Scaramucci, who eventually became CEO of SkyBridge Capital & White House Chief of Staff under President Donald J. Trump. While at Goldman, Mr. Waterfield co-founded the hedge fund & private equity organization that became Waterfield Enterprises & The Waterfield Private Equity Funds alongside the Chairman of Goldman Sachs International, Gene Fife, and an elite group of Goldman Limited Parters, including the reputed Head of Goldman’s Global Bank Stock Analysis Group, Robert B. Albertson, as well as the legendary former Head of the Goldman’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Joseph H. Wender.

From 1992-1994, while earning a BA in Economics at Columbia University in New York City, Mr. Waterfield worked as a Wall Street Intern at Prudential Securities under George M. Salem, a well-known bank stock analyst and renowned Wall Street Bear.

Mr. Waterfield received his BA in Economics from Columbia University in 1994. After graduating from Columbia, he trained & worked for fifteen (15) years for Goldman Sachs & Goldman Sachs Limited Partners.

Mr. Waterfield trained for over a decade in Los Angeles under Martial Arts Hall of Fame Grand Master Steve Ross. He has a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Soo-Bahk-Do, an ancient form of Shaolin-based Karate currently used as a basis for hand-to-hand combat training in American Navy Seal Training Program(s).

YPO

Mr. Waterfield is an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO), and has been involved with YPO since 1986. YPO, founded in 1950, has a membership of over 20,000 CEO members organized in 300 chapters in 125 countries. Mr. Waterfield served as Chairman of YPO | Orange County, Area Chair of YPO’s Pacific Region (HI, CA, AZ, NV, WY, WA), and Chairman of YPO | Northern Indiana. Mr. Waterfield’s wife, Stefanie, served as Spousal Chairwoman for YPO’s Pacific Region, and currently serves as a Spousal Chairwoman for YPO | Northern Indiana. As part of his work with YPO, Mr. Waterfield has served as the Founding Moderator for seven (7) separate forums, and moderated over 100 forum sessions.
